Perfusafe2 + Autoflush®

Perfusafe is a safety infusion device with Huber bevel for implantable ports which can be used for intermittent injections, continuous infusions of drugs or solutions, blood sampling ...

Perfusafe consists of:
- 1 needle with Huber bevel curved to 90°. Four lengthes of needle are available: 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm.
- 4 wings: 2 upper wings for gripping and holding the device during placement and removal. 2 lower wings to hold the implantable port in place when removing Perfusafe and activate the safety device,
- 1 flexible extension tube in polyurethane, length 215 mm - Int.-ext. Ø: 1.5 x 2.5 mm, with lateral port fitted with a needle-free connector: Autoflush,
- 1 female Luer-lock hub,
- 1 male Luer-lock cap or 1 Autoflush,
- 1 colour-coded clamp according to the size of the needle,
- 1 protection pad to be used between the skin of the patient and the wings of Perfusafe.

Perfusafe prevents needle-stick injuries by rebound effect when withdrawing a Huber needle from an implantable port.
The needle is automatically directed into a safety block offering total protection for health care workers with no change in the handling technique for the operator.

Autoflush on the lateral port of Perfusafe or, in some cases, on the proximal hub is a closed needleless device allowing intermittent injections or continuous infusions of fluids or drugs. Autoflush includes a disinfectable piston which closes automatically when the infusion set or the syringe is disconnected. Autoflush provides a 0.03 ml positive displacement of I.V. solution when the syringe or the infusion set is disconnected, thus eliminating any retrograde flow of blood into the catheter lumen, preventing catheter occlusion.

Perfusafe code 5249.115/120/125/130/715/720/725/730/915/920/925/930 has no lateral injection site, no Autoflush, no Bionector, only a simple male Luer-lock cap on the proximal hub. See corresponding technical file.

Perfusafe can be used for CT rated injections: maximum pressure is 350 psi. To carry out this operation, close the proximal clamp and inject the contrast media through the Autoflush on the lateral port.
